It’s been 2 years since Lekkzy Young puts out a new music. The previous attempt ‘Like That’ was released in 2020 during the height of the Covid pandemic. He returns with ‘Ta ta ta’ alongside his friend ‘Mayzee’.
Samuel Allen Awotunde ‘Lekkzy Young’ is a Nigerian Ivory-Coast-born Songwriter, Performing artist, and Music business professional. He is a First-class graduate in Estate Management from the University of Lagos and has been very active in the Music industry for over 10years.
“I started music when I was just 12 years of age, back then in secondary school. Music has always been my meditation, whenever I feel alone or in my feelings (which happens more than often), I just try composing new Music.”
His first official single was ‘Keke’ in 2018, then ‘Like That’ which was released in 2020 - it been played and gotten placements across all major platforms, online and offline. Also garnered over a million stream across the DSPs. The success of ‘Like That’ paved way and introduced him to the African music market.
Lekkzy Young has developed his Music, style, and general branding uniquely and has recorded major progress over the years. He has since performed across Nigeria, the UAE, Kenya, Turkey, Georgia, and other parts of Africa. He’s been on same stages as Wizkid, Olamide, Burna Boy, Davido, Wande Coal, and other major Nigerian acts. Lekkzy Young has also been nominated severally and won few prestigious awards in Nigeria, Spain, and the U.K.
Sometime in 2021, Lekkzy Young signed a new mouth-watering 360-record label deal with ‘House of Dollar Entertainment’, he received a new Range rover car, new house in Lagos, an undisclosed sign-on fee, big promotional budget and other pecks.
‘Ta ta ta’ being his first official single of 2022, is being released just in time before the ‘Detty December’ period where people usually close the year happy and unlimited partying hence consuming more music than ever. It features colleague ‘Mayzee’ whom has also been on a different song with him in the past.
The song was premiered on 13th of October, 2022 across Radio stations in Nigeria. ‘Ta ta ta’ has been slowly moving up the charts with over 500,000 streams and downloads already in its first week on Apple Music, Spotify, Audiomack, Youtube, Boomplay, and other platforms. TG Omori has been tipped to shoot and produce the music video to ‘Ta Ta Ta’.
